Esta serie de capacitación gratuita de 6 semanas basada en evidencia para padres y cuidadores está diseñada para ayudar a las familias a guiar a los niños a través del éxito en el hogar, la escuela y en la vida. Y ayudar a familias para fortalecer y clarificar las expectativas de comportamiento, mejorar las condiciones que promueven la unión dentro de la familia y enseñar habilidades que permitan a los niños resistir el consumo de drogas exitosamente. La serie combina debates, conferencias, actividades grupales y el apoyo social positivo de los compañeros para abordar las preocupaciones comunes de la crianza. Al finalizar esta serie recibirá un certificado de finalización.

Impact of Domestic Violence - Women
This 4-hour class designed to assist parents in supporting children who have witnessed, or have been affected by domestic violence. Classes are gender specific
Topics include:
- What is Domestic Violence?
- To what extent are children impacted by domestic violence?
- What can parents do to help children?
- What actions should parents avoid?
- What are strategies for parenting after violence?
- How do Moms and Dads interact after domestic violence?
- What is the long-term impact of parental conflict on children?
Impact of Domestic Violence satisfies mandated parenting class requirements. Upon completion of this class you will be given a Certificate of Attendance.
Discounts are provided to those individuals who indicate they are low-income and unable to afford the full fee. To receive the reduction in fee, attendees are asked to call our office at (360) 754-7629 and provide proof of low-income status.
QPR - Suicide Prevention
We can all save lives
QPR is a 90 minute evidence-based training providing practical and proven suicide prevention strategies for work, school, at home and in your community.
What to Expect
Through lecture, videos and practice, you will be able to respond confidently to emergency situations. Skills and topics include:
- How Suicide is a Public Health Emergency
- Recognizing Risk Factors & Warning Signs of Suicide
- Understanding the Myths & Facts of Suicide
- Learning About Direct and Indirect Clues of Someone At Risk for Suicide
- Learn About the Behavioral Clues Related to Suicide
- Learn the Situational Clues Related to Suicide
- Question - Learn How to Ask About Suicide (and Learn How NOT to Ask About Suicide)
- Persuade - Learn How to Influence a Person to Seek Ongoing Help
- Refer - Learn How to Refer and Support a Person to Resources
Consider the Children
The divorce/separation of one’s parents is a major event in the life of a child. Consider the Children is a 4-hour parenting class focused on strategies to support children who live separately from one or both parents.
Topics include:
- Grief and loss
- Stress indicators in children
- The long-term impact of parental conflict on children
- Communication skills for parents who live separately
- Strategies to help children in transition through visits
Consider the Children Seminar Workshops meet Lewis, Mason Pierce, and Thurston County Superior Court requirements mandating attendance at a four (4)-hour class designated to address the impact family restructuring has on children. All instructors have been approved by the courts. Upon completion of this class you will be given a Certificate of Attendance to give to your attorney, or file with the court clerk.This VIRTUAL 4-hour live seminar is focused on strategies to support children who live separately from one or both parents.
If you do not have access to a computer, you will also be able to access the class via phone call, tablet, or other smart device!
